Update Contact Information for SSO
Account recovery for Hancock College's SSO system can use both a personal email address and an SMS (Text) capable phone number. Both of these recovery methods can be managed by the user inside Banner Self Service.
To update the email address used for password recovery, first visit Banner Self Service. Then, click the pencil icon below the email address of type "Personal and Password Reset Email" and enter an updated address. To add a new email address, click the "(+) Add New" link, select "Personal and Password Reset Email" email type and enter the new email address.
To update the recovery phone number, first visit Banner Self Service. There are a number of available "phone types" the only one that will be used for account recovery is of type "Text Message". To edit an existing Text Message number click the pencil icon below the phone number and enter a new number. To add a new phone number, click the "(+) Add New" link, select the "Text Message" phone type and enter the new number.
The SSO system uses a user's most recently added or updated "Personal and Password Reset Email" address and the most recent added or updated "Text Message" phone type. There is typically a 30 minute delay before updated contact information in Banner is available in the SSO system.
