Student Workers at Allan Hancock College are provided specific technology resources to support their roles. Unlike regular employees, they do not receive employee accounts or email addresses. All access to critical systems must be explicitly approved by the ITS Director, Dr. Andy Specht.
Student Worker Accounts:

- Can log into employee computers using provided credentials.
- Some devices are set up on the student domain and can only be accessed via auto login or with an email ending in
@my.hancockcollege.edu
.
- Employee devices are on the employee domain and can only be accessed with an employee account (
@hancockcollege.edu
).
- Student worker accounts allow access to employee devices but do not grant any elevated privileges that could risk the security of the employee domain.
Restrictions:
- No portal access: Student workers use their student accounts for portal access.
- No email address: Communication should be done using their student email.
- No Banner access: Student workers do not require or have access to Banner.
Working with Student Workers:

Inviting to Teams Using Student Email:
- Use their
@my.hancockcollege.edu
email address to invite them to Microsoft Teams.
- Go to the Teams application, click on "Teams" in the left sidebar.
- Click on "Join or create a team" and then "Create team".
- Select "From scratch" or use an existing team as a template.
- After creating the team, go to the team settings, click "Add member" and enter the student worker's email address.

Sharing Files Using Student Email:
- Files can be shared through OneDrive or directly within Teams.
- In OneDrive, select the file or folder you wish to share, click "Share", enter the student worker's
@my.hancockcollege.edu
email address, and set the appropriate permissions.
- In Teams, go to the channel or chat where you want to share the file, click on the paperclip icon, select the file, and click "Send".
Note: For any access to Banner/Argos/Xtender, student workers must have direct approval from the ITS Director.
