How to Connect to Campus Wi-Fi

10/14/25 - As we move to secure EAP-TLS, these instructions are subject to change. 

AHC owned checkout devices for students should automatically connect to the Allan_Hancock_College network using a secure EAP-TLS connection configuration assigned to the device. To best return students to work as soon as possible when facing issues, return problematic laptops to the department from which they were borrowed and check out a working device, else contact ithelp@hancockcollege.edu for support (never include other recipients to this email as it automatically generates tickets).

Employee addresses (those that end in @hancockcollege.edu) will take priority over student addresses for Wi-Fi connections. For individuals with both accounts, please use employee credentials to access AHC Wi-Fi on personally-owned devices.

Windows

1. Open your Wi-Fi options from the system tray and select the right facing arrow:

2. Select Allan_Hancock_College and sign in with your AHC email and password:

ChromeOS (Chromebooks)

1. Find the list of available networks and select ALLAN_HANCOCK_COLLEGE.

2. For "Identity" type in your myHancock user. For "Password" type in your myHancock password.

3. For the rest of the setttings, please see the screenshot below. Your phone may have slightly different options.



 

Note for Google Pixel and other Newer Android Phones

If you use a Google Pixel or other newer Android phones, you should follow the steps above with one modification. Instead of selecting "Do not Validate", please select "Request Certificate Status" and under "Domain Name" type "hancockcollege.edu" . If you have the option to "Trust On First Use" that will work as well.

MacOS (Macbooks)

1. Open your Wi-Fi options from the desktop or settings.

2. Select Allan_Hancock_College User and sign in with your AHC email and password (@my.hancockcollege.edu for students and @hancockcollege.edu for employees).

3. You may be prompted at this point to approve the connection by signing in with your Macbook password or fingerprint as well as to trust the network certificate, both of these must be completed.

iOS (iPhone)

1. Open your Wi-Fi options from settings.

2. Select Allan_Hancock_College User and sign in with your AHC email and password (@my.hancockcollege.edu for students and @hancockcollege.edu for employees).

3. You may be prompted at this point to approve or trust the network certificate in order to connect, this must be completed.

Android (Pixel, Samsung Galaxy, HTC, etc.)

1. Navigate to the play store to download SecureW2 JoinNow MultiOS: http://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.securew2.paladinUploaded Image (Thumbnail)

2. Choose Search and Setup to search for 'Allan Hancock College' under domain:Uploaded Image (Thumbnail)

3. Choose 'Allan Hancock College' and sign in with SSO:

4. Save the network when prompted:

5. Check your Wi-Fi to make sure it is connected:
