Student Email Filtering

Tags spam email

To ensure a safer digital campus, our email security policies aggressively filter email sent to my.hancockcollege.edu email addresses. The purpose for this is to limit the amount of scams and unwanted messages delivered to our students' inboxes. Please read the following details carefully so you do not miss critical communication from external contacts.

  • All emails sent directly from the college using an @hancockcollege.edu email address (including Financial Aid, and Admissions and Records offices) and pre-approved vendors like Canvas will be placed in your Inbox.
  • Emails from any outside senders (such as potential employers, newsletters, external organizations, or personal contacts) are automatically routed to your Junk folder.
  • Emails landing in your junk folder are not official Allan Hancock College communications. Any messages regarding your account, financial aid, or job offers should be treated as scams.
  • Please check your Junk folder daily. If an important message from an outside sender ends up there, you can prevent it from happening again by adding them to your Safe Senders list.
